Many of you who followed the Ugandan blog may remember me mentioning the wonderful Mother’s Union work that was going on in Ankole Diocese. This was led by a truly inspirational woman Rev Canon Phoebe Mutabazi.

Sadly Phoebe died last week. She complained of a headache at a Mother’s Union meeting and died within 20 minutes. They are awaiting the post mortem report.
Phoebe was one of the most joyful people that I have ever met. Her pride, not in her own contributions, but in the successes of those mothers who had, with her support, turned their circumstances around was humbling.

Her faith in the knowledge that God loved her and the people she worked tirelessly with was an encouragement to all who met her.

I know that she will be greatly missed in the diocese, both within the organization and on the ground.

I hope you will join me in prayerfully supporting her family and colleagues and for the continuation of the inspiring work that she has left behind.

On Sunday November 28th, youth and children’s leaders from around the diocese descended upon St Paul’s Church Chippenham for The Occasion –  a unique commissioning service for those who work with children and young people in their churches.
