John Swainston was appointed Director of Educaiton in October 2012. He joined the department in January 2012 as Partnership Adviser to work with all our schools, including Academies.

We are keen to support Church schools, whatever their status, through the rapidly changing educational climate. He is also involved in developing service provision for schools and in developing new school networks.

Andrew Wild has a passion for raising standards through support with challenge to schools, so raising standards achieved by pupils and the quality of education provided for them. This is achieved by working closely with schools and offering support and guidance to Headteachers, staff and governors.  Andrew provides support for the appointment of Headteachers and their continued professional development. He is also involved in developing service provision for schools and in developing new school networks.

Jeanette Plumb is the diocese's Safeguarding Officer and is for the time-being the point of contact for enquiries relating to child protection. This follows the retirement of Carolyn Buckeridge in December 2012. Jeanette works 10 hours a week in this post but will check emails and phone messages regularly and get back to you as soon as possible.
